How to Hide Your Friends List on The New Facebook Timeline

I decided to write on how to hide your friend list on Facebook because some of us would like to keep their Facebook friends list private for reasons best known to them. A lot of people have been using this feature already but if you don’t know about it yet, then this post is for you.

One thing I like about Facebook is that they keep tweaking their users interface so as to give their Facebook users total control of their Facebook account so that they can use Facebook and still keep their private life hidden from the public.

Before we proceed, I will like you to know that even though it’s possible to hide your friends list from other Facebook users, I don’t think it’s possible to hide mutual friends from the person viewing your profile because if you have friends in common with anybody viewing your profile, they may still see mutual friends but others may remain hidden.

How to Secure your Office

Security of your office is one more thing that you should take into account when you think about your workplace. Business ideas, important documents, info about your clients, as well as the material goods in your office should be protected at all times. With different ways of storing such things these days, it is not really enough just to have a big lock on your door. You have to protect your office in all sorts of ways, including technologically, as well as physically. Here are all the important aspects of your office protection.

How to Secure your Office Easily

Doors and Windows

This is a basic thing to check and secure. Make sure that your windows definitely cannot be opened from the outside. Also, always inspect them before closing time to be sure that they are all closed. As for the doors, always know who has keys to which doors and why. It is not a wise thing to have many copies of the door keys. Also, put numbers on the key copies and write down who is responsible for each of the copies.

Security Cameras

Workers will not be thrilled to know that they are being monitored by the security cameras. Therefore, you don’t have to place them just anywhere, but you should be placing them at the most sensitive places. You will have to inform your employees which areas are being monitored. Sometimes, just a simple information that the place is being monitored can prevent an incident from happening.

Software Protection

This is another aspect of your business where you need to be sure that you are properly protected. All your contact, documents and business correspondence are, probably, in your system. Therefore, save no money looking for the best, the most secure and impenetrable business software you can find. Also, make sure that there are guarantees for its safety and that there are

Alarms

There are several types of alarms that you can take into consideration when securing your office. The cheapest ones are the alarm systems that have motion detectors and that sense breaking and entering, signaling it with loud noises, lights and the like. These make a good choice for a small business that doesn’t have that much to protect in terms of expensive equipment. On the other hand, there are those monitored alarms that automatically notify the police or security services that your office has been broken into. These are more expensive and that cost has to be carefully calculated into the budget that you have for security.

Hiring Professionals

If you want to be certain that you have covered all the specific security issues of your office, it is best that you hire professionals that will recommend the best options and ideas for you. Also, you should hire the agency that has a lot of experience and a lot of good reviews. The best way to find such agency is to ask around with the companies that are using their services. The choice of agency is definitely not the choice you want to leave to chance.

Although, security is not the first thing that you think about when you start business, because it requires from you to think about negative scenarios, it's not an issue that should be taken lightly. It deserves your attention, so don’t miss out on it. http://www.inoneprojects.com.au/

Cloud Applications Businesses will Request in 2014

Several years ago, cloud computing was a blurry, yet revolutionary concept that was predestined to change our collaboration, file sharing and data storage habits. As cloud apps grow widely adopted, even an average user is able to understand and make use of their potential. Many companies have shifted their daily activities to different cloud-based software programs and they will continue expanding their clouds in 2014, adopting the following apps.

Cloud Applications Businesses will Request in 2014

1. Collaboration apps

While Dropbox was conquering consumer market, other cloud developers focused on adjusting their apps to the needs of professionals. Google Docs has already become a default way of developing business projects but Box will significantly expand their market, replacing Google in many companies. All these services offer many features employees love and this behavior will require company managers to work out efficient strategies for implementing them into their current settings. Cloud collaboration is essential in modern companies because it enables constant access to important files from different devices, as well as easy file sharing, desktop syncing and document editing.

2. Customer relationship management

CRM software programs powered by the cloud have made a true revolution in companies of all sizes, offering them a possibility to reinvent their internal and external communications at low price. One of the pioneers of cloud CRM, Salesforce.com maintains its stable position as a leader in the market but many other applications may become its alternatives. SugarCRM is an open source platform that can be seamlessly integrated with various communication systems but that is not very simple to install and run. However, SageCRM and Acumatica are excellent alternatives to these two, as they are quite easy to set up and are inexpensive to maintain.

3. Accounting services

Financial activities have become way more efficient with the introduction of online accounting tools such as Quickbooks Online and Freshbooks. These two apps dominate small-to-medium-sized business market because they offer feature –rich programs any accountant can easily get savvy with. They provide a centralized cloud space where employees can keep track of the most important financial and budgeting data.

4. HR Management apps

In the world of online communication, it’s not always necessary to hire an employee who is physically close to your offices. Instead, you can hire an external collaborator to whom you can communicate with via the web. This possibility has significantly transformed current job market and it requires alternative approach to HR. To get in touch with potential hires, you can use any of automated cloud-based HR tools that would enable you to successfully track, communicate and monitor your potential and existing employees. Solutions such as TribeHR or iEmployee may add up to your HR department’s efficiency and eventually your company’s success.

5. eCommerce apps

To run a successful online business and achieve significant profit doesn’t require you to establish a large company or have many employees. Shopify.com and Zendesk are excellent platforms that allow you to integrate different tools with which you can maintain conversation with your customers, keep track of their orders and monitor your competitor’s activities. Regardless of the type of the business you run, these apps would give you an excellent insight into the market and help you expand your online presence to increase your sales.

Tips to get long lasting blog traffic

If you want long lasting blog traffic then you have to stay in it for the long term. Have a long term goal that is more specific than “have lots of readers” and then stick to that goal for the long haul. Most blogs do not reach beyond six months and many are gone after two years. If you want long lasting traffic then you have to commit to a blog that is long lasting. Here are a few tips that are going to help you on your way.

How to get long lasting blog traffic

Write on a theme and stick to it
Lots of writers start out with a theme and then slowly start to change it. This happens for a lot of reasons. One of them is because the writer slowly loses interest over the months with the original blog theme and wants to try other things. The most common reason is because people run out of things to write about on just one theme so they start to change their focus.

READ: Stay On Topic in Your Blog Posts

Stay On Topic in Your Blog Posts

In a perfect world the writer would be able to change topics and themes as often as he or she likes, but there are few popular websites that are able to do this. A website has to have a draw, and that draw is often the theme. If people are looking for a blog on HTML programming then the target audience will be website programmers. They are unlikely to be impressed and are unlikely to return if your focus starts to shift to biomedical science matters.

Have a voice and use it in your blog

Having a voice means having a distinctive way of writing, but it also means something else. Having a voice is having something you write from. In many of Stephen King’s books he writes from a position of imagining himself as the protagonist. That is why so many of his books feature a young or middle aged man.

Edgar Allan Poe was part of the Romantic Movement, seemingly invented the modern detective book, and was credited for a science fiction slant to his work, but his voice was always more of a gothic element which is what he wrote from.

You have to find your voice and write from that. If you are still unsure of what writing from your “voice” means then watch the season eleven episode of Family Guy called “Brains Play.” Where the creator Seth says a little about how having a voice is what makes writing more than just text.

Write about things you find interesting

If you do this then your content is more likely to remain engaging and you are more likely to put more effort in to your work. You are also less likely to become bored with your blog after a few months.

Have an RSS feed

This will help people to find your website and your blog again and will remind them when your next blog post has been released.

Have a blog post and RSS feed scheduling tool

As a long-term blogger you should have both of these. They help you to plan your blog posts ahead of time and help you ensure your blog is posted at the same time every week. Most of these are free, so you should grab one and start learning how to use it.

Give people links to other relevant information

If you can do this without the fear of losing traffic then you are setting yourself up as a long-term blogger. If people are going to come back to your website again and again then you have to trust that they will return again (even if you give them other websites to look at).

Have suggested reading sections at the bottom of each page

These help your readers to stay on your blog a little longer. They see your suggested titles and if they are interested in your content then they will stick around. They may even sign up for your RSS feed.

Do not allow low quality guest posts

They are going to damage your credibility as a blogger and will probably damage your search engine optimization too. Only allow high quality guest posts (if any).

Do not do any promotional posts

People write promotional posts in order to exploit the popularity of their blog. They do this at the expense of tarring their good name and annoying the readers. Such tactics are pretty poor if you want to keep your readers.

Do not have auto-start anything

This means no auto-start video or audio of any kind. Do not have popup adverts or social media items pop up on the screen. They are not as annoying as auto-start videos and audio, but they are still an annoying part of the users’ blog experience.
